Duende Issue 1 – 2020

2020 was an iconic year and one that saw humanity brought together in the midst of a pandemic. Isolated and vulnerable, we began to search for new connections and ways to express ourselves.

The art world stepped up for all those who were lost and alone and offered online courses and workshops and the message that we are all in this together.

‘Duende’ means ‘a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity’ when looking at art.

Duende Zine was born out of the need to collaborate when collaboration was limited due to lockdowns and virus fear.

Artists from around the globe were invited to share their responses to the pandemic.
